how was everyone's weekend? i don't think we did a weekend plans post...
saturday ryan and i watched our nephew so sis and bil could go out for their anniversary. he's 15 months now so we had a lot of fun playing. he really got attached to uncle ryan, lol.
other than that, we just did stuff around the house. ryan has already started packing things/cleaning out the basement. he's a bit ahead of things, but have at it imo! sunday we scoped out the neighborhood of the house we like to check it out on a beautiful afternoon as opposed to evening when we've always been there and were very happy w/ the area. can't believe we may actually put an offer in! crazy.
Re: weekends?
I was just going to make this post!
That is so exciting about the house, Pam.
Saturday a gf and I went to town for a Chocolate Walk...get a punch card and sample chocolate at 19 different stores on Main St. It was such a blast, a lot of the stores were cute boutiques I've never been in. May was good for the most part and we saw a lot of my coworkers (my office mate was in charge of the walk and sold us all the tickets). It was extremely liberating to get out and do something social with the baby in tow! (We also had lunch at my favorite cafe...awesome.)
Saturday night SIL, MIL and my two nephews came over and made us supper...the dog broke off her chain and jumped on my 2 1/2 yr old nephew, which made MIL mad, even though it was her fault. She always tiptoes around the dog which riles her up. If she had just picked Henry up and carried him straight to the door instead of letting him walk just out of reach of her chain, she wouldn't have gotten so excited. Whatever!
Sunday Clint got to be at home since the co-op was closed and they couldn't haul in corn. A couple of friends came over to meet the baby and we sat around and watched football all day. It was WONDERFUL!
chocolate walk... we need one of those around here!
glad you had a good weekend, melissa.
My weekend was alright. I worked Friday night, Saturday day and Sunday day.
Saturday night we went to a friend's birthday party. It was the one I made the empanadas for. They were really popular, but the secret competition never happened. The party was nice and I met a bunch of new people.
Sunday after work, we ended up getting free dinner! A BBQ near us opened a new branch (?) a little north of here, and offered us free dinner for 4 if we went up on Sunday night. The line was super long, but the food was good, and free. So it was a good time. After that, we just went home and pretty much crashed.
Today is kind of my Friday, since I have tomorrow off. I'm having my mom over for lunch because her birthday was Saturday. But more on that in another post.
Kinda already touched on it, but I had a pretty awesome weekend.
I took off Friday to spend time with Joe, so we got JJ's first hair cut, had lunch, ran errands and took a family nap. My mom made dinner that night, and H and I went bowling with some of his family/friends.
Saturday was football. All day long. At one point, I was keeping track of the OSU game on my laptop [since Fox decided to yank its sports channels from Dish in the middle of college football season - jerks], watching three different games [flipping channels], AND watching baseball. Sports overload, but it was so fun to snuggle on the couch with Joe and just watch sports all day. My mom kept JJ occupied since she isn't a big fan of football. :P
Yesterday was another lazy day. Joe helped me set my fantasy teams, we watched some NFL games, he washed my car and we just hung out. Everything went pretty much back to normal. And, JJ took so well to Joe that he wouldn't come to me. I'm so thrilled that I was nervous for nothing.
Rodgers started his new job Friday. So Nate and I have had a lot of one-on-one time this weekend. I imagine this is how our weekends will be for the foreseeable future. When Rodgers isn't home in the evenings, I get a lot of reading done, which I love! But supper is kind of dull. He is loving his job so far, BTW. He's shadowing his assistant supervisor for his first week. He's getting to know some of the girls. I told you all what the job was, right? It's a residence for 35 teenage girls who are CPS cases, many have been abused, many have violent behavior, all of them either have no parents or their parents aren't capable of taking care of them. So...yeah, I pretty much did nothing this weekend.
I had my monthly check up on Friday morning. Then, DH's Dad and his wife came into town and he installed 2 ceiling fans for us. The man is crazy! These were very difficult fans and he was done in like 2 hours! It took DH and I all day to install 1 ceiling fan a while back. We went out to dinner for coal fired pizza that night - yummmm.
Saturday, we woke up and took them to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. I totally pigged out!! His Dad's wife had a step counter though and we ended up walking 15,000 steps that day, so that made me feel better! The weather was gorgeous! We went to a great Irish pub for dinner.
Sunday, we got them into the parks again and then we went to run errands. I also put together the baby furniture. I was pretty work out and ready for bed last night!
Friday night was hectic until DH and I finally got to the arena to see the comedy show. The guys were GREAT! and we really enjoyed ourselves. I missed seeing my little girl's sweet face before going to bed, though.
Saturday DH and I slept in...way in. We both woke up around 8:00, DH got us some breakfast and then we fell back to sleep until a call from FIL woke us up around 9:45. We both fell back to sleep until 11:45! I finally got up and headed over to my parents' to pick up Amelia (who had been an angel), and then the two of us had a marathon shopping session. I met up with my friend and her two kids (ages 3 and 18 months) for the shopping which was good and bad. Good that I had someone to watch Amelia while I tried on clothes and bad because shopping with a 3-year-old is a slow process.
Sunday continued my shopping obsession.
Amelia is going to be a big sister!
I was off Friday (as I will be every one from now on), so I got all of my cleaning done while H worked. He got home about 2:30 or 3, so we hung out for a bit, then ran a few errands before meeting his dad for dinner.
Saturday we had the ALS walk for a friend we met through church and played v-ball w/this summer. Great weather and an awesome turnout! What a horrible disease though, it was sad to see how many people are affected by it. After that, H and I ran errands, bought the crib mattress and his dad came over to prep for tiling the shower on Sunday. Vegged out on the couch, although I did con H into taking me to Starbucks later that night
Sunday - H and his dad worked on the shower tiling all morning and afternoon, so I had Early Parenting class at church, then church service, then baby shower for a friend. Needless to say, by the time I got home at 4:30, we were both pooped! We decided to eat out for dinner and do grocery shopping tonight.
