Say your city is doing a veterans' memorial and is taking donations to get a brick with a veteran's name engraved in it... is it weird to do a brick for someone who is still alive? I wanted to do one for my dad and both of my grandfathers, but only one grandfather is deceased and my dad is still alive.
Re: Random/Stupid question
memorial |m?'m?re?l|
noun
1 something, esp. a structure, established to remind people of a person or event : a monument built as a memorial to those who fell in the Civil War.
I think it's ok. It honors their service. Maybe ask a family member what they think? I don't know if these things are typically for veterans who have passed.
I can see where your coming from, but I really think it would be a great way to honor him. I wouldn't think it would matter if he was living or not.
Problem solved!
