I know, I know, I always ask this....
I'm having my mom over for lunch tomorrow.
I'm making a feta & creme fraiche tart with lemony spinach salad. It's basically puff pastry with some cheesy goodness, and a bunch of spinach and dill on top.
Since the weather here is cold and rainy, I want to make a soup to go with it. I'm thinking simple veggie soup, with pesto.
I'm also going to make another attempt at macarons, because my mom has never had them (the horror!). This is risky because of the whole rain+egg whites=flatness thing.
Anyway, does tart and soup sound like enough lunch? It will be light, but that can be nice.
What say you, nest ladies?
Re: Menu help
Totally perfect.
PS my butternutsquash/apple soup that i posted is the bomb.

Jackie -- I thought about that recipe, but I didn't really want something at all sweet. I have a weird thing about not having sweet things as the main part of a meal. I also don't like sweet things (like fruit and candied nuts) in my salads. It's weird, I know.
