Stained Linoleum

Okay, I am so embarrassed at how filthy dirty my bathroom floor was!! I just did some hardcore scrubbing with a magic eraser and vinegar on our old linoleum and honestly, I always thought the darker spots were just stains... but they came right off with some scrubbing! I have always just swept and Swiffer Wetjetted but obviously that was not cutting it! Now all I can do is think about how many guests we've had over in the past 2 years that have  probably looked at my floor in disgust! I vow to never let it get like that again!!!

That's all, just thought I'd share!

Re: Stained Linoleum

  • YAY! Doesn't it feel so nice after you accomplish something like that? I love the feeling I get after I get done cleaning. Haha

We have vinyl floors in our house and they have stains where the bathroom rugs were. Like it is a big yellowish square. Not sure why this happens and I wish we could just put in tile but we are saving to build a garage. Do you think it would get out stains like this too??!  If not do you have any other suggestions?

  • Yes! I can't wait to get home tonight and finish it up so the whole floor is clean (ran out of Magic Eraser)!!! Some areas of mine also have stains under the rugs (weird). The vinegar/magic eraser didn't really work for these areas. Not sure if it's mildew or what? I am going to try scrubbing with some baking soda, too. If that doesn't work, I might try a diluted bleach scrub on this area to maybe kill it if it is mildew.

  • Try Greased Lightening on it. Spray it on, spread/scrub it around and let it sit for a few minutes, then mop off.
