If you kept your wedding dress
and had it shortened/dyed who did you use to do it? Also, did you like it, or did you regret having it done?

Re: If you kept your wedding dress
This isn't very helpful, but I had my dress shortened to mid-calf length for my actual wedding. It was the only alteration I needed done, so I used a person who does wedding alterations.
As for dying - I've had the same thought. To die mine black and up the odds that I could wear it again, but since an event requiring something that formal hasn't come up, I haven't had a reason to pull the trigger. I don't know if I could do it.
I know what you mean. I think I just like the potential to be able to wear it again, if that makes sense. I just can't see giving it up, OR letting it sit in a box somewhere.
Can I ask what the mid-calf alterations cost you?
Honestly, I don't remember much about the cost, but it wasn't expensive. My dress was fairly simple around the hem though - no beading or lace. We were getting married outside with an outdoor reception and I didn't want to drag around a 4ft silk train all night, not to mention - calf-length suited me better. I'm thinking it was less than $100.
If you've ever seen the b&w movie Sabrina - my dress was cut just like Sabrina's first formal party dress - but without the lace. Really classic and simple.
