Do you ladies have regular reviews at your job? What is the distance between reviews?
I'm having some issues at the moment and figured I would find out some information from you all.
Re: Job Review ?
Yearly, at the end of the year.
Is everything okay the job?
At my previous job, we had them once a year, usually in the fall or whenever my boss got around to them.
At my current job, not so much. Everyone makes the same amount of money and we will never make any more. So I guess since it is at-will there is really no need for a review.
I've been promised a raise for a few months - we had a talk yesterday that got me nowhere except, "November, promise" well- great, except I heard, August, September, October - promise. Loses validity quickly. November is my 6th month at this position, when I was hired I was told that by December I would easily make X - which would be a big raise for me. I'm getting really frustrated and because of that I've been looking elsewhere but right now there aren't other options and I'm afraid if I push too much they'll get pissed and because H isn't working at the moment, my ability to negotiate is pretty limited.
our reviews are annually and usually in the spring. except for this year... we haven't done them yet. and we aren't guaranteed a raise every year either.
good luck!

Aw, kmt- I'm sorry they're jacking you around like that. I'm assuming it's a smaller company, then?
H got yearly reviews with guaranteed raises (although the amount was not guaranteed) at his last job (huge corp), but it is much less formal at his current job. He was just promoted, but told to "ask" for a raise in 6 months based on performance.
I get a review once a year and we are given raises on pre-determined steps. Online and available for all to see... no question, no negotiation.

Yearly review. Done on the day you started, or if you got a promotion then it is moved to that day. But every year review = raise
Anything in a handbook KMT?
Done annually at calendar year end. We have a pretty strict corporate policy, though. All employees have to have their review complete by the end of January (i.e. all 2010 reviews need to be complete by 1/31/2011).
We also have quarterly and semi-annual meetings with supervisors/managers, but those aren't written... Just sort of making sure employees know where they are, so there aren't any surprises at the end of the year.
Planning Bio - Woefully out of date
Lol, we don't have a handbook, or at least I have never seen one. It's a startup and they are *very* unorganized. Come November, there will be serious issues if I don't get something in writing.
Gotchooo that is sucky!! Good Luck
