Anniversary Gift Ideas?

In 2 days it is our 3rd wedding anniversary! I am looking for advice on what to get my husband. (I know, I am running a little late) The traditional 3rd year wedding present is leather.

He has a wallet he likes. I wouldn't be against a watch, but I would sort of want his help picking that out. I don't really want to get him a belt, or shoes, or jacket.

Can you think of anything else? Leather, or not. TIA!

Re: Anniversary Gift Ideas?

  • What about a nice messenger bag? Would he use that for work? Andy has this bag on his birthday wish list. There are cheaper options too if you think it's something your hubby would use. Andy uses his every day, but the one he currently uses is not in very good condition anymore so that's why he asked for a new one. He has used his old one for many years, so I figure it's worth investing in a nice one because he'll definitely get a lot of use out of it.

  • I got DH a new leather toiletry bag this year because his was getting ratty.
  • Happy almost anniversary!!  We just had ours and I got DH a wallet, because I wanted to do the traditional thing. BUT since he isn't into a wallet, I agree with pp on a messenger bag, and I also like your watch idea.

Otherwise, for non-leather related gifts, what about a ________-of-the-month Club?  Whatever it is that your DH is into. I was thinking of doing a beer of the month club for my hubby.  They also have month clubs for pizza, salsa, cigars, whatever you can think of.  If you wanted to be creative and still incorporate leather you could put the certificate for the club in a leather box or something.

Lots of love and continual explosions of babydust to my BG Besties! XOXOXOXO

DH would looooooooooove that bag!  Too bad it's about $240 more than I want to spend on our 3rd anniversary gift!  :-0

I know, I will have a hard time spending that much on a bag. I'm such a cheapskate, but sometimes spending money bothers me less when it's a gift for someone. I'm super cheap when it comes to buying things for myself. I've never spent more than $30 on a purse, so buying a $260 bag is kind of painful!

Andy really likes Kenneth Cole stuff, but usually he buys it at TJ Maxx where it costs a lot less than at stores like Macy's. I've searched high and low for a Kenneth Cole messenger bag on clearance or at a store like TJ Maxx, but can't seem to find one. I might have to bite the bullet and spend the $260. Like I said, it's something he'll use daily for years, so it's probably worth the investment.

There are a lot of leather messenger bags for lower prices on overstock.com, unfortunately Andy doesn't like any of them. So picky.

  • We just celebrated our 3rd anniversary in August and we stuck to the traditional leather gift.  The Mr. is a hunter so I bought him a black leather rifle strap from Etsy at http://www.etsy.com/shop/LeatherPro?ref=top_trail.  He was so geeked about it.

OMG! That is a great idea! My hubby is not a hunter but he plays guitar and a leather guitar strap would be a great idea. It is going in my great idea folder until our third anniversary!

haha! Oh I know! I am a huge planner though and I plan on being with my husband for a while (more like forever!). I figure if we could handle going through the stresses of high school, college/cosmo school, careers, grad school, etc. we will be able to make it at least 3 years Wink  !!!
