There is a part of our linoleum floor in that bathroom that feels rougher than the rest when I'm going over it with the mop or the Swiffer Wet. But you can't feel it when you touch the floor with your hand. I finally figured out that this must be the hairspray that goes behind me. What can I use to get rid of this?
What do you use to clean your tub/shower? I would use these cleaner pads that Scrubbing Bubbles made but I can't find them in the stores anymore. Regular Scrubbing Bubbles spray or vinegar and water don't seem to get it as clean as those cleaning pads did. I thought about using Comet, but it always gives me a headache. It also doesn't help that wet hair grosses me out to no end, so using a sponge even with gloves on still makes me shudder. Any suggestions for getting over that too? ![]()
Re: 2 bathroom cleaning questions
In college, we had a "hair spray incident" in my dorm room. We ended up putting shampoo on the area and then wiping it up with warm water. It took a little work because it had set in but it all came up. (Shampoo gets it out of your hair, right? That was our theory. There may be a better way. We obviously weren't very bright.)
I hate wet hair, too, so DH gets it all out before I start cleaning in there.
When I clean my tub, I fill it with hot water and dump in four cups of bleach. I let it sit until the water starts to cool and then empty it out. Then I run my shower to rinse out the bleach and water any any grime that it loosened up. Then I take a Mr. Clean magic eraser to it. Finally, I run the water for another minute or so and then call it a day.

I'm not sure about the hairspray question...I found something that worked awesome, but I can't remember what in the world it was. I would try baking soda and water though because a hair stylist once told me that no matter how much hairspray you have in your hair, baking soda will make it dissolve immediately. I would think it would work on surfaces too.
For my bathtub, I make a vinegar/baking soda paste and then use my Magic Eraser on it. It gets all kind of stuff up! As for hair, I hate it too! All I do is clean the hair catch in the drain and then use a damp cloth to wipe it all up before I start cleaning. GL!

I agree that hair thing is gross, drives me bonkers!!!
Hairspray is very tricky and whoever said try shampoo has a great idea. I would try clarifying shampoo-its something every girl should use to wash her hair at least once a week because it strips any product build up out. Believe it or not your hair will build up even shampoo residue regardless of what brands you use (and I'm a hair snob and only use salon brands!!). Logic says that stripping shampoo could get it off the floor
