easy halloween costumes
so i'm coordinating a Halloween costume party/potluck luncheon for my work next week. i cant think about what i want to dress up as though! i never dressed up once i was too old for trick-or-treating until i got to college and was invited to costume parties - but even then I would just pick something out of my closet to throw together just so i dont have to buy anything.
what are some simple and cheap (maybe already from the closet) and not-slutty ideas you can think of to dress up as??
some things i've considered but am not all that sure about: miss america (i dont particularly want to wear a ballgown all day), paula deen (i cant find a gray wig and everyone keeps telling me i'm to skinny for that, hahah) and facebook page -
things i've already been (and dont want to be again): texas aggie fan, cowgirl, skater punk chick, cloudy with a chance of rain (i wore a blue shirt and put cotton balls on it, then when people asked what i was i would squirt them with a waterbottle i had in my purse and tell them i'm cloudy with a chance of rain -- hahah!)

hmm...what about a pirate? you could wear one hoop earring, easily make an eye patch from felt and string or elastic, wear a bandana. white or black/white stripe shirt, black capris, etc
I saw american tourist on a list too. hawaii shirt, camera around your neck, big floppy hat, maps, etc. that might be kind of funny
or the ol' fall back. a cat!
i dressed up as that last year. we just stayed at home and had our neighbors over. i made super quick ears by gluing little felt triangles onto a headband. I painted a nose and whiskers with eyeliner. Then I dressed in all black. Had I decided to do this earlier than 10 minutes before the neighbors came over I could've rigged up a tail with felt or maybe stuffing some old black tights.

Snooki from Jersey Shore? Put your hair in a pouf, wear a lot of bronzer to give yourself a orange "glow", wear a glitzy tee, and a denim skirt or jeans with fuzzy slippers. Oh, and some sunglasses with bling haha.

I like the snooki idea....that would be easy also.
a nerd...you could get some suspenders and wear a white button down and a tie or bow tie with some glasses with the lenses popped out and tape around the center and a pocket protector with pens in it
one year for homecoming in highschool we went as white trash and got nasty jeans think like 80's acid wash, some shirt that had a saying aross it like your boyfriend thinks im hot, did our makeup VERY heavily with lots of red lipstick, put our hair in foam rollers and wore house shoes.
