Well DH and I had to do our anniversary stuff over the course of about a week because of the way our schedules have been lately but it has been totally worth it. Last Monday we went out for a nice dinner at the restaurant where DH proposed and we did some final gift shopping...we are getting pretty good at buy gifts for each other while we are together with out the other finding out what it is. Our big gift to each other was the trip that we just got home from. DH wanted to take me to the Longaberger Basket Factory in Ohio so after doing a little research I found an absolutely amazing package on the website that included two nights in the hotel owned and operated by the Longaberger family, a VIP tour, and getting to make your own basket along with a few other things. We made the 6 hour drive early Friday morning and started home on Sunday. Since DH's aunt and uncle live about 2 hours away from where we were staying in Ohio and we had to drive right by there town we decided to stop there and spend some time with some family that we don't get to see very often and it was great to see them. We finished the drive home today but on the way home we decided to stop by the memorial site for Flight 93 and the rescue site of a Pennsylvania mining accident which were right on the way home. We did just a couple small but nice gifts for each other since the trip was our big gift. DH gave me a beautiful new watch that I needed and I gave him a new Scrabble dictionary that he needed as well as a framed picture from our first dance with the words to our first dance song printed across the picture. We haven't had the chance to eat the top tier of our wedding cake since we weren't home for our actual anniversary but we will probably do that either tomorrow or Wednesday.
I hope that this wasn't too long and that you weren't too bored reading it. I just wanted to let everyone know about our trip if anyone is interested in Longaberger Baskets and would be interested in visiting the factory.
Hope everyone else has had a good first anniversary.
