Britt's thread got me thinking about mail since we are moving in a few weeks. I was at the post office the other day and I couldn't find the form you can fill out to change your address (and they were so busy I didn't want to wait to ask someone). I know you can do it online, but they charge you a $1 (no big deal) but the bigger deal is that they require you to use a debit card to verify your identity which I am not fond of.
Does anyone know if you can only change your address online these days? It has only been a year since I moved last.
Re: changing your address
I think you HAVE to do it online now. I haven't seen those forms laying around the PO in a few years that I can think of.
I could be wrong. But honestly, doing it online saves time.
It's almost here! Weeeeeeee!

If you go to the post office they still might charge you. I thought the reason they charged you was to verify your identity in case you were changing someone else's address fraudulently.
Don't worry about them having your debit card number Missy - they already have your social security number, which is much more informative.
If they want those numbers they can get them. They don't need you to give them to them.
I would just do it online. I hate P.O. lines.

Thanks Min. Hopefully the next time the PO won't be so busy and I can ask for the paper form. I just moved last year, too, and had the paper form.
