You have no idea....

how excited I am that Adam's truck will be up and running by this weekend!!!  I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the guy and all but he takes FOREVER to get ready for work in the mornings.  Plus, he's loud in the car and likes to have the windows down.  I have my own routine.  I like to listen to my own music and not have to talk to anyone or listen to anyone talk on my 30 minute ride to work.  YAY for going back to two vehicles!!!!

Re: You have no idea....

  • I can imagine the relief! Kevin and I had to share a car for like 3 days once and it was horrible.
  • Yay!! I also like my quiet time on the way to and from work.

  • 3 days?  We've been sharing a car for like 3 MONTHS!!!

  • I would lose my mind if we had to share a car for three months. I've had to take him to work off and on this month, and it's awful. It adds an hour to my commute each way.
  • Adam and I work close enough nearby that it's actually been pretty convenient for us.  He drops me off in the morning since he works later than I do, and then he picks me up after work (since he gets off earlier than I do).  It just sucks because I have to go through extra steps to get him access to the Post so he doesn't need me as an escort, etc.  Plus, if I have any errands I need to do during the workday, I can't do them because he has the car.  And he's gotten it all dirty with his stupid work boots.  :(  He's been good about getting it detailed and washed regularly, but I'm really getting tired of seeing my seats covered in drywall dust.

  • It would be damn near impossible for me and Kevin to share a car.  You're a more patient woman than I Stu.

  • We used to carpool and it worked pretty well. We lived 20 minutes away and worked less then 5 minutes away from each other. We liked it and felt like we were doing a good thing.

Then we moved closer to where we worked and when my car lease was up we decided to get me a bike and share the car. The bike was great until fall hit and it was way to cold to ride in the morning. Aaron would wake me up and take me to work. After 7 months we couldn't take it anymore and I got a new car.

  • SOOOOOO, Adam's truck is fixed!!!  He's picking it up tonight after work!!  He went and talked to the guy yesterday and said that the bastards who sold him the truck put the wrong transmission on it just to get it going down the road and that's why it crapped out on him.  I can't believe it held up as long as it did.

  • Oh my gosh! Glad they got that fixed!
