Here we go again...

K is switching jobs. *SIGH* I should be happy that it will be essentially double what he is making now, but it's his old company and I have a hard time trusting them. This is a good thing, right?

EDIT: I should also say that this is not the company that laid him off, but the company he left b/c there was little work and he was sitting at home for weeks. Right now they say they have a lot of work for the upcoming months. We'll see...

Re: Here we go again...

  • I don't blame  you for not trusting them!  I'd be leary, too.  I hope it all works out well!

I'm trying to remember...with this place he's been working for lately, did he end up getting trained or certified or something in another area?  Like, welding or something?  So there would potentially be more work available to him?  (Maybe I'm making this up.......)

lol. no you didn't make that up. He was always a welder. There are about a million different types of welding. He used to just be 1 type and at his current job he got certified in 3 other types, so yes. In the long run that should help him out in the future.

  • Completely understandable that you are nervous about this. I would be too. I REALLY hope this works out for you guys and that he gets enough work.
  • I hope everything works out for you guys!
  • That's exciting and scary at the same time. I hope it works out for ya'll!

This job does travel, but they have work near by through janurary. Hopefully he will be here for a while. He will not go to offshore rigs which makes me happy b/c him flying on the helicopters and being on those rigs scares the crap out of me. He's also get sundays off. He's been working 7 days a week since feburary (most of the time). So, all in all he'll be here more and we'll be able to afford for him to take a day off here and there. yay!
