Who watched the Gov Debate last night?

Who knew there were that many wacko's in NY?  I think its probably a foregone conclusion that Cuomo will win, but he didn't really impress me.  I think he was trying to maintain his dignity and remain above the fray.    McMillan is obviously the breakout star, but I think he just wants to be famous more than he wants to be governor, though he did make a few good points.  I was disappointed at the lack of crazy coming from Paladino - someone must have drugged his water before letting him onstage.  And Madam Botox?  Honey, if you are going to read straight from your notes, at least practice ahead of time so you don't sound like a robot.

Re: Who watched the Gov Debate last night?

  • I tried, but with all the crazies standing up there, I felt like I was distracted away from what anyone was trying to say. Although he was quite colorful and engaging, I was a little disturbed by McMillan's idea to bulldoze the Adirondacks to save future generations.
  • I think that was Paladino's MO for bringing in all the possible candidates - it would make him look less crazy.  I'm really shocked they gave them air time honestly but it does make for good entertaining TV.
  • I'm so sorry I missed it, it looked like quite a show. Our paper in Syracuse called it a circus.

  • IT WAS AMAZING!  We had a debate watching party and made all NY foods and our nerdy friends came over and we all geeked out over it.  The highlights for me were:

Kristin Davis's line about how when she ran a business, unlike the MTA, it ran one set of books and provided services on time and at cost.

Her line about how the politicians are basically whores in NY, so she is the most qualified to run the state.

Her line about taxes causing businesses to leave NY faster than Paladino would leave a gay bar.

    Jimmy Mcmillan's gloves.

Andrew Cuomo agreeing that Rent is TOO Damn High!

Carl Paladino getting up and leaving before the debate was over because he had to go to the bathroom.

So many moments that I loved!
