Holiday decorating

Do you decorate for seasonal stuff?   I only decorate for Christmas, but I see on ML that people decorate for fall in general?

Re: Holiday decorating

  • I decorate for Halloween just as much as I do for Christmas.

I have my old decorations from my childhood for Halloween and I love puting them up.

  • I don't decorate for anything beyond putting up ornaments on my Christimas tree and stockings on my mantel.  I keep seeing cute fall decorations and consider buying them, but I just don't want to collect more crap I have to store somewhere.

  • I don't decorate for Halloween. Partly because we live in a condo, and partly because I don't really like halloween decorations.

I love fall decor. I'll probably do more seasonal decor touches when I have a house. Depending on the season, my MIL always puts out different colored towels or candles in the bathroom, a centrepiece on the table, stuff on the mantle, etc. And I think it's really nice.

  • We usually put out a pumpkin that the squirrels end up eating which means I don't have to "put it away".  I'm bad at putting decorations away so we don't put much out around the house.  I don't want snowmen up in July.

  • I try to keep our front door wreath relatively in season.  Right now it has dried cypress from our tree and a rust colored ribbon for fall.  We do jack o' lanterns for Halloween but that's pretty much it.  H mentioned getting some of those spider webs the other day but he hasn't done it.  I did decorate for the Fourth of July this year.

I go kind of nuts for Christmas.  I'm ridiculously excited about the new Christmas tree we scored on clearance last year.

  • Mostly the outside.  We have these brick lamp post at the entrance of our front courtyard and I hang seasonal wrealths throughout the year.  Christmas is my favorite and this year we are adding the sled with the lights to our rain deer and current set up.  I'm so excited!

  • Yes, I have some fall decor. Pumpkins made from twigs and some Halloween stuff that Maggie likes. We go whole hog for Christmas. We were just discussing Christmas tree placement the other night.

  • I love Halloween and I do decorate for it. We just bought our house in Feb so this is the first year we have it for the holidays. DH loves Christmas so I'm sure we will go crazy about that. I also have some scarecrow and thanksgivingish items for November.
  • I have an autumn centerpiece for the coffee table, and a fat little pumpkin candle I like.

  • I decorate for fall. Normally I have a blue/white theme with our accessories in our living room, and I change them out for more fall-colored stuff. I also have some leaves I drape over the mantel, and some pumpkin stuff.

But decorating for fall just makes me want to decorate for Christmas that much more.

    This. A thousand times this.
