I'm so tired from staying up to watch Teen Mom last night. It looks like Sunday will be the only day I get to sleep in this weekend. I can't wait.

Crap!! I didn't get the pink memo. Sad I'm wearing green.

Good Morning Ladies - I am so tired. I decided to leave work a little early yesterday and met up with Tom and his friends to watch the Phillies game. We had a little too much to drink and not enough to eat so I'm having a hard time this morning. BUT! I'm here, made it to work at 7:30am.

Phillies are on again tonight. I'm hoping they can pull this one out. We need this win. Other than sports right now there is not much else going on in my life. Haha...

I felt like crap this morning and then finally got out of bed to see the disastrous sugar-free cupcakes I made last night. I had completely forgotten about them. I had to throw them all away, they were awful. It's sort of depressing, such a waste of ingredients, and a sink full of dishes, for nothing. I feel bad because they were for a work meeting and now I'll probably get a hard time for not bringing anything. Blaaaaahhhhhh.

I worked til 8 last night so I don't feel bad about rolling in late.

And here's a sign that you're getting old: did you know that those silly band things are also associated with sex acts? I just read it on E and I was shocked. What the hell is wrong with kids? And why is 25 so old that I don't know this stuff anymore!?

The cupcakes weren't all soft and fluffy, they were like BRICKS. I don't know what happened, honestly. I measured everything exactly, and I'm 100% positive I didn't mess any of the ingredients up. The only thing I can think is maybe I stirred it too long in the KitchenAid. And the frosting was just liquid, I had to add almost 1/2 a cup of flour to it to make it spreadable. It turned out ok, but then I had nothing to frost. I just don't trust the Splenda website AT ALL. Boo.

As for the silly bands - someone told me that. She was working as a sub and another teacher told her. I was shocked, especially since I usually see young kids wear them, but apparently it's just some of the older kids that use it as code (i.e. yellow = BJ, or whatever). She was unclear whether they stood for stuff they've done, or if they were advertising what they were willing to do, but either way is really disturbing. They were banned at a lot of schools because of it.

LTB, want to feel old? my cousins, age 13 and 15 are OBSESSED with justin bieber. i was telling them about the huge crush i had on JTT when i was their age (well, i would say from 10-13) and they DIDNT KNOW WHO HE WAS and we had to google him. i was like "uh, only the hottest kid ever! he was simba!" i was devastated that the kids of that generation did not know who JTT was

I'm cold today. it is 33 degrees here. i wore my uggs in the car so i could delay putting on my flats as long as possible.

Sad to the cupcakes! I have no idea what would turn them into bricks either.

Shauni - It really baffles me to think that kids today will think we grew up in the stone age. They'll never know that cell phones used to be the size (and practically weight) of bricks and only really rich or important people had them, movies came out on vhs and you had to rewind them, the internet was still relatively new, etc.

And whats really disturbing is that when we're 30-40 years old, Nick at Nite (if it still exists) will be airing the cartoons we watched as kids as 'classic cartoons'.

Shauni - I used to be obsessed with JTT! Oh the posters I had...oh and you can send some of your cold weather here and I'll send some of this 80 degree weather to you!

As far as the silly bands, at least around here, they used to have just colored bracelets which girls would wear and they meant something (yellow = whatever sex act, red = blah blah blah and so forth) but then they came out with the silly bands in different shapes and figures and I didn't know those stood for something now too. I just thought it was the next fad. I will be asking my kiddos at school to figure this out though...

What kills me is I can't tell you how many of those stupid things (silly bands) I've bought for my nieces! Granted they are only 4 and 5 and have no idea of any negative connotations but still! How you make rocket ships, ice cream cones and princess themed stuff sexual? Ugh!

LTB - my MOH was telling me at the wedding that her daughter got on the phone at the hotel to call my mom, and looked at her and goes, "Mom, the phone's broken. It's just going urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..." She's 8 and doesn't know what a dial tone is!!!

I'm also shocked about the silly bands and sadly not wearing pink or purple. BUT... I did finally go get my license changed this morning! So now my last name is really, really official!

Adrift on the winds of Wednesday I catch the first scent of the weekend...

I've got my purple on today! Purple is my favorite color I was not lacking choices this morning.

I was busy hausfrauing last night. I removed sheets and remade beds in our room and the blue room, put three loads of laundry away, did three more loads of laundry (WTF with all the laundry!), bagged dry cleaning for MFD to take in, wiped down the kitchen, packed lunch, talked to Jenn on the phone, and finished 40 thank you notes. There are only 11 left for MFD to write, and then about 10 for me to write for my work luncheon. I watched Teen Mom in bed, painted my nails and read a book. Fell out at 12.

Today I need to clear my desk off, do some work, hit zumba at noon, and get to the pet store and Target after work.

AAAANNNND watch the Phils win to tie the series. Come on boys!

You're all making me feel old here. JTT was a little young for me. LOL

I am peeved that I was up so late. I was getting peer pressured from my friend via text to stay up and watch Teen Mom so we could discuss it via text in real time.

First off, COMMERCIALS! Hate. Second, midnight. I got up at 7 and look like a hag today. God I need some face serum for night.

But I did get to finish my book during commercials so that was OK I guess.

I was absolutely in love with JTT growing up! I had to watch everthing he was in either on TV or VHS! I loved the youngest boy on the show Growing Pains too, can't recall his name.

I didn't get the pink/purple memo, but I just happen to be wearing a pink pull over so I'm good.

WTF, when did the bracelet bands become something sexual? I totally missed that! Who and why did they start this, they're kids...come on, seriously! What will they ruin next for kids?

Good Morning all!

Just another day around here...its raining so that makes motivation go down the toilet. I'm thinking about signing up for the Zumba Certification class to teach Zumba. I'm thinking that I should just go sign up and stop talking about it. The class would be in about 5 weeks so I would most def have to get my rear in gear with the quickness!

My hausfrauing only lasted the night before last. I did none of it last night. Watched the Phils get tromped, whee! (sorry, I'm more a Giants fan), biggest loser and teen mom. Tuesdays are my whole night in front of the TV (as well as Jersey Shore Thursdays).

JTT is too old for me too and I don't even know what you kids are talking about w/ those bands. Maybe me not being able to conceive is a good thing. Kids (ie teenagers) sound like d-bags right now. Saw something on the news last night that teen girls send about 4K texts/month. Good lord!

Thinking of McDonald's for lunch. Which has nothing to do with anything, I just feel like getting some monopoly pieces, maybe hitting the big jackpot. Too tired to function, but still wearing my purple. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good news to report this morning!

1. I had reported back in August that my sis/MOH had lost her job and yesterday she got hired and will be back in the working world.
2. I checked my son's grades and he has all A's. He is a freshman this year and has been working hard on his homework. Now I need to think of a reward. There has been a standing agreement that all A's will come with a reward but this is the first time he has achieved it.

I sub and I knew that the silly bands were banned in a few schools, but I wasn't aware of any sexual connotations with them. Sheesh.

Shauni (and everyone else) i- I used to FREAKIN' LOVE JTT and Rider Strong. I loved Boy Meets World! I literally had a WALL in my room plastered with those Teen Beat magazine posters. I was SUCH a dork.

I am wearing a pink shirt, but was cold, so I have a sweatshirt on over it right now.

It's still morning for 10 more minutes so I'll chime in. I am wearing a purple sweater today, but I had completely forgotten about the bullying thing. I am also a fellow JTT lover! A couple of years ago my roommate was doing something with some group of kids and I don't remember how they got to this topic, but these kids had never heard of Lauryn Hill. My roommate felt old, and when she told me about it, I felt old too.
