Yay for spontaneous trips!
DH decided that we are going to Kalamazoo, MI this weekend to visit a friend and see one of our favorite bands.
Yeah, it's not the most fabulous "getaway" you've ever heard of, but we're just glad to get out of town for a bit. I've never been to Michigan before so I'm hoping to get some nice fall weather up there. We'll be driving for about seven hours, but we've done worse.
Are any of you ladies familiar with the area? Anything in particular I should try to do or see? I think I saw that there are some wineries in the area so I might try to hit up one of those on Saturday. Wine is good everywhere, right?
Re: Yay for spontaneous trips!
Sounds like a very fun weekend coming up!!!
A 7 hour road trip is a piece of cake! We'll be driving 13+ hours next week when we drive to Colorado. I've never had a problem with long trips in the car. Just make sure you pack snacks and take a few breaks to stretch your legs.
Your trip sounds great too! I bet Colorado will be beautiful this time of year. And yeah, DH and I drove to Austin, TX which was also about 14 hours and it was doable. Oklahoma kicked my arse, but other than that it was fine.
Thanks for the tip, Lisa! That definitely sounds like something fun to do. Can you believe that I was born and raised in St. Louis and still haven't done the free tour at the AB Brewery? Maybe after Bell's I'll be inspired to go.
