Do you use the NaNo message boards?

Just curious.

I use my regional one, but that's all.  The others are a little daunting to me.  I feel like they're too broad, and I don't really feel as though I get much help from them, I guess.

Re: Do you use the NaNo message boards?

  • I read my local board, but am a little intimidated to post anything there.  Also, I don't know that I would get much help from them just because I'm struggling to really get an idea for my novel.  ACK...writer's block stinks!
  • I use my local one to see about local write-in's and to try and find some local writing buddies.

I have started using the national boards for a few plot points I needed help on and the research board. Everyone has been SUPER helpful!

  • I've used my local, and I love the adoptables board. I needed some unique names last year for a list and I nabbed a bunch from the name board. And someone also posted an idea about how to quickly make up quirky new names, and I've been using it ever since! I think if you know specifically what you're looking for and you stick to those boards, the national ones are great. I also did some word races last year, too.

  • I've browsed the boards but haven't posted anything.  I'm still undecided about which story idea to use. Tongue Tied

  • I use my local board and I lurk on the Philadelphia board, but I haven't ventured any further yet.
  • I posted the other day on plot doctoring, and have browsed the "adoptables" section just fishing for ideas...

  • Hell yeah.  I use my region, the Nano Artisans board, and the general topics board.  I've posted on the "How much yarn do you think it would take to knit a sweater for a giraffe?" topic as well as other ones.

I love that board for its randomness.

  • I've been browsing my regional boards, but the national boards seem a bit cumbersome.
