XP: Jim Thorpe, PA?

Hey ladies.  Was hoping you could help me with a spur of the moment weekend getaway H and I are planning.I'm looking for some info on Jim Thorpe, PA or the surrounding area. We'd probably like to do some hiking or whitewater rafting or something else outdoors, then have a nice dinner somewhere.I'm wondering if anyone has ideas on other things to do, places to stay or places to eat?  Any info at all would be great!

Re: XP: Jim Thorpe, PA?

  • We did whitewater rafting with Pocono Whitewater (I think that's what it was called.)  It seemed well-organized.  We had a fun time, though the rapids were almost non-existent.  I can't help you otherwise!  Enjoy!
  • My parents took my sister and I here when we were younger.  I know they had an awesome fall foliage steam locomotive ride out through the countryside.  It was pretty neat.  Old locomotive, beautiful colors, and Jim Thorpe has a bunch of neat old mansions.

    Good luck!

  • If you are looking for a place to eat, go to Moya.  It is delicious!  A little more pricey, so if you are looking for a nice night out, that is the place to go!
