Help!!!

So, we have our first baby on the way and I'm trying to figure out how to fit us and our little guy into one bedroom... We are staying at DH's parent's house while we work down our debt and save up for our own place. The room is fairly small, but not horribly small. Any ideas on how I can make the most of our small area?

  • I saw this really awesome saving space idea. You take the drawers out of a dresser, add rolling wheels (which are pretty easy to find at Lowe's, and are relatively cheap as I understand it) to the bottom, and slide them under the bed. They look pretty and are pretty easy to get to!

You can always get a changing table that doubles as a dresser for the baby:

  • i had my bed on 6inch risers at my old apartment (check the closet section of stores). they added a lot of space. i had one of those hard plastic office chair rolly things that i wasnt using so it went under the bed so that plastic totes would slide in and out easily.

in addition to adding more storage, purge through your things to make more space.

  • i used to have my bed on 6 inch bed risers. added a lot of space to the room. also consider going through what you have and getting rid of stuff.

space bags are also a good space saver, especially for out of season clothes, and hand me down baby clothes that will be too big for a while.

I've been going through things like mad, and luckily we have a storage unit with most of our stuff in it. It's a small bedroom, though, so even if I have the bare minimum of our stuff in there, it still feels like its cramped lol (I can't wait for us to be able to afford a place of our own again!! stupid debt =P )
