Plastic containers for Borax or Biz cartons?

My Borax and Biz cartons are always falling apart, then spilling their contents on the floor (my laundry room tends to be very damp, the cardboard gets soft and then falls apart).

I used to have a plastic box to hold baking soda...do they make something like that for Laundry detergent cartons?  I have looked online and cannot find anything, but really need to do SOMETHING.

  • i would just get whatever tupperware/rubbermaid/glass canister that fits your shelf (and the full boxes quantity) and pour the contents into the containers without the boxes and just lable them. would make the shelf look neater too.

  • Ditto hiscb. There are a lot of plastic containers at target, walmart, lowes and home depot. There should be something somewhere.

Also, you might want to invest in a dehumidifier. It's typically not a good idea to leave a room damp... it breeds mold.

  • Mine are just in a set of sugar/flour canisters I bought on clearance at Target. Works super and the lids are a flip top, so if the whole thing drops it won't spill.

I'd also check into why your room is so damp. My laundry room is damp but not damp enough to wreck a box.

  • I use a big plastic container, like what someone would store boxed cereal in, for my Borax.  It has a flip-up lid making it easy to pour.  It's see-through too, so it helps me know when it's getting low as well.

We have a leak that we have NOT been able to figure out.  We've had the plumber, our appliance guy (trying to check our fridge and dishwasher which are above the laundry room)....everyone trying to figure out that leak.  It only leaks occasionally (not continuously). but enough to be a PITA.
