So, I'm not sure if I've posted all my work drama on here or not. I know I've complained some to a few of you but didn't delve into the issues completely. I handed in my two-weeks notice...without a plan for the future. That goes against the advice I would normally give someone "don't leave a job until you have something else lined up, etc." But I decided I needed to make a move. I have this feeling of guilt about doing it but it was probably the right thing to do. It will be difficult cutting back on expenses but for the sake of my sanity I think it will be worth it and hey, at least I'll be able to make lunch GTGs now Smile

YAY! So proud of you! You were practically working in a sweatshop so this was a good move. Definitely take some time off to destress and regroup before starting the job search back up.

Good for you! After your post the other day, I was worried you weren't going to go through with it, but I'm glad you did. You deserve SO much better than that and now you can focus your energy on finding something that makes you happy!

they seemed quite disappointed. however, my boss made no move to offer me anything to stay so I think they'll get over it. i was a little irked that my boss got up directly after the conversation and announced it to my direct-reports. i was hoping to tell them myself...

That's great! I once left a job with no new job lined up and I have never regretted that decision. Things always have a way of working themselves out and it's really tough to get a new job when you have an oppressive job. Not only do you not have time to look for another job, you're not at your best so it probably detracts from you ability to land a job you really want.
