I need your help. Okay nothing serious but we finally started tearing the wallpaper down in our addition/sunroom/my woman cave. After wallpaper comes down painting begins, then a new side door, window treatments, ceiling panels and finally a resort bugalow-ish type ceiling fan with those big brown blades. When I first decided to go dark with the knotty pine wainscoting you posted a great inspiration pic I was so sure I saved. Of course now I can't find it. I have found a few dark wainscoting pics but for the life of me can't find any pics for a sunroom using dark trim; everything is white. Now I am having second thoughts about going dark since all the trim in our house is white, even though aside from the actual wainscotting the 'trim' is minimal, just around the door.
I am completely annoyed with myself.
So by any chance do you still have that pic or know where a similar one might be. It had dark wood trim with flowy curtains?
ETA: thanks for getting through this long a$$ post

I remember posting this pic to give you ideas for the big windows, but it doesn't have the wainscotting.
I remember us talking about doing the wainscotting in the same stain as the bamboo? I think?
Wives Unscripted
Actually it wasn't pine wainscotting and actually I don't even know if it had any wainscoting at all it may have strictly been dark trim, andI think it may have had the bamboo blinds but I can't remember I know for sure there were flowy curtains. It was nothing like my room now and my room probably would never in a bazillion years compare but it's something to reach for. LOL
It totally reminded me of a cabana or something.
Was it the YHL sunroom? I know their sliders are dark trim and they have the white ikea curtains around it.

Oh maybe, and actually maybe it was that pic. I haven't been to YHL in a while aside from checking out their Halloween stuff.
Okay so your thoughts? Espresso on that knotty pine with a very light color up top , bamboo and sheer treatments for the windows. The romm abslutely gets the most sunlight of the whole house, do you think that would be airy enough?
I really wish I could do that darn floor. I would love to do a heated tile.
ps thanks for taking the time to reply, since you have today off, right?
I'm at work today. Tomorrow I'm off.
I think if the room gets enough light then going dark on the bottom shouldn't be an issue. The color on top will be light, you'll pull the darker color up with the bamboo blinds and the curtains will break it all up.
I would also hang the bamboo blinds at the top of the ceiling and the curtains. Draw the eye up and keep a good distance between the too wood tones.

Well darn for some reason I thought you had today off too, I guess I am not on top of '08 happenings like I thought.
I def plan to keep the treatments high, I didn't in our dining room and regret it (and will probably change it eventually)
Thanks!
No worries, I would have liked to be off today, lol!
You must be in my house, I said something to DH about I wish our curtains were higher and wider to make the ceilings looks taller, he's like, I know our ceilings are 8ft, I'm not going to hang curtains up there to tell me any different. Ah men!
