I wanted to punch a lady at Wal-Mart
because she was bitching about her kids being out of school for Fall Break.
I was checking out and BL (bitchy lady) was behind me with her two girls (about 7 and 9). After telling them about 15 times that "enough is enough" and they couldn't have this or that, she caved and let them get candy (way to stay strong *eye roll*).
The cashier said something about them being a handful or something and BL said "It's called Fall Break. Kids are out of school WAY too often if you ask me" I laughingly said, "I'm a teacher and I have to disagree with that". Then BL says "Well I know I was never out of school as much as they are and I graduated in '99. They're home ALL THE TIME" I said "I doubt that" and finished putting my stuff in my cart. Like I give a flying fvck when she graduated...
She kept going on and on, which I'm sure her daughters really appreciated hearing, and as I was walking off I said maybe you shouldn't have had kids then. She probably didn't hear me, but I get so fvcking tired of parents complaining about their kids being out of school.
Re: I wanted to punch a lady at Wal-Mart
Those poor girls! I can't imagine my mom saying that about me to my face or me saying that about Cooper. How awful.
And - even if I thought it, I would never say it outloud. Especially not to strangers. What a winner.
Yeah. That's not cool. So, not only did she vent to a stranger [who happens to be a teacher, so you know just how often kids get out of school and they don't] about having her kids at home and not liking it, but her kids were there. Winner.
That annoys the crap out of me. We had parents come in today as a part of a campus tour who seemed annoyed that their kids were out of school and they drove to OSU to take a tour. They were talking about how long the drive is [from here to Wichita - um, it's less than two hours if you do the speed limit, and that's not a long time], how many people are on campus today [it's HOMECOMING]...oi. Excuse me for taking your kids on a college tour and helping them make one of the biggest decisions in their young life. Sheesh.
