XP: Camera Recs

My point and shoot camera got broke last weekend at my high school reunion. We already have and DSLR, but I need a small convenient camera that I can throw in my bag and go. I would like to keep it under $200.

TIA

  • We have a Canon Powershot that we like.

The other one I'm familiar with is the Olympus Tough. My parents have it and they love it.

  • I have a Canon Powershot and like it. It's the third one I've purchased. I tried a couple of Nikons in between and hated them.
  • I have a Sony Cybershot. I love it. I got the waterproof/freeze-proof/shockproof version, which is more than $200, but it's fantastic. I don't have to worry about taking pictures in the rain or on the boat or in the winter when it's really cold. Plus I figure when I have kids I can take it to the pool and beach with them.
  • I can't remember the brand or anything but I recommend a waterproof camera!  My friend's had one in Cabo when I was down there and they had their camera in the pools and even in the ocean while they were snorkeling without a care.  In fact they were able to take underwater pictures with it.  It was awesome!

And they had a blast freaking out people at the pool my pretending to drop it into the pool.  :)
