How much extended family/DH's extended family are you friends with on FB? FIL keeps sending me friend suggestions of his family members who live in West Virginia. I have only met most of these people once and it was several years ago. Can he tell if I ignore the suggestions?
Re: FB question
I was friends with his uncle and a few cousins, but I said something one time to the effect, Jeff playing softball, again. That was it, no whining or anything because I was friends with some of hs family and what I said made it's way back to Jeff, but it was all turned around and not what I said. I even showed DH on my FB what I said and he was like Oh, sorry. So after that, I defriended everyone I was friends with in his family.
Although I am FB friends with MIL.
He can't tell if you ignore them but once you do, it changes from "pending" and he can keep sending the same ones over and over. I just leave the ones I don't want to add in facebook purgatory... lol. I still have eight pending requests that I've done nothing with. That includes my mom and MIL...
I only have a few cousins as far as family... but I only have 60 friends. It's just my policy not to add certain family members. I am also only friends with people I actually talk to/see regularly.
I'm friends with a good bit of my own extended family, but not DH's. It's mainly because most of his family doesn't seem to be on FB, but there are some I'd ignore even if they were, haha.
For some of my own extended family, work associates, etc. I have a special "group" they're in that has certain things blocked/private.
As for ignoring 'suggestions', I don't think there's any way to tell.
I decided that it would be cool to be FB friends with mostly all of DH's family. That is until last week when DH saw his family and his cousin was making up sh!t. DH's cousin told him that he saw on my blog or FB how I said that DH never does anything and that he still needs to this and that, etc. For one - I'm barely on FB anymore and two - I haven't updated my blog on house stuff for quite awhile - and three - I'd never say that about DH on FB or my blog. I've since made my blog private though.
This cousin also has a habit of 'making up stories' - so I imagine this was one of those times - but it pissed me off because DH and I ended up getting into a hellacious argument about it.
