Just thought I would pass this info on. I am a big supporter of CSAs and so I think this is a really cool idea - a bakery doing shares, and ingredients are local/organic/etc where they can. I would do it but I can't rely on getting to pickup the share, so I'm bummed, but I know some of you ladies might be interested. I'm curious to hear if any of you are familiar with the bakery or tried their products or if you think you'll sign up.
They don't have much info online, so you are supposed to e-mail them for info.

We
are Nick and Britin Foster of "All Good Bakers", Albany's first
Community Supported Bakery. We have been baking out of our home for
several years, bringing fresh bread and baked goods to local farmer's
markets. You may have met us at the Harvest Fest in Washington Park
last weekend or at the Saturday Delmar Farmer's Market, or read about us
on local blogs.
We know many people in the area are familiar with the Community
Supported Agriculture (CSA) business model (where one purchases a share
of a farm in exchange for a season of fresh produce, beef, chicken,
eggs, etc.), and using the same model, we'd like to bring the Capital
Region its first Community Supported Bakery (CSB).
We are passionate about providing our community with the freshest,
made-from-scratch artisan breads and baked goods. Joining our CSB means
knowing your bakers, the ingredients we use, and the businesses we
partner with. As a shareholder, you will:
Have a stake in an ethical enterprise that helps develop your immediate community and connects you with local agriculture
Build a direct relationship with your food sourceReceive quality goods that are primarily made with ingredients from local farms and local businessesWe will be using only organic flour and as many other organic ingredients as possible, with many vegan options.
Your support will provide us with the capital for quality
materials sourced as locally as possible. Throughout the season, we
look forward to building a relationship with you. We value being able to
connect directly with our customers, and we feel responding to your
ideas is what will make this effort truly community oriented.
The Winter Bread season will run from November 3rd, 2010 through
April 27, 2011 (26 weeks). Shares begin at only $6.00 per week (payment
for the full season due at sign-up). We are limited to 150 shares, and
shares will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Attached to
this e-mail, you'll find our order form and all the information you'll
need to decide if you want to join us (may we suggest you print on both
sides to save paper? It's 4 pages plus an ingredients list).
We will have two pick up points, one in Albany and one in Delmar, on Wednesdays from 5pm-7pm. The deadline for sign-up is October 24.
If
you have questions or would like to sample our goods, we're at the
Delmar Farmer's Market every Saturday (except Oct. 30) from 9am-1pm and
we would love it if you stop by to meet in person. You can also contact
us via e-mail or by phone. We appreciate all the enthusiasm we have
received in response to this endeavor so far! We hope you'll pass on
this message to others who may want to sign up. We look forward to your
participation in our effort to bring the community sustainable bread
and baked goods.
