  • I wouldn't even know how to go about attempting that one

They make what is basically a plastic bag with a sticky part on it that they use in the hospitals for small children in diapers when they need a sterile sample, I have no idea how you'd do it at home!!

    Good luck Angi!!!

  • Yea it was a plastic bag in a sterile envelop. It had a little cushion it it, I am assuming to not rub on his man parts. And there was sticky part that was supposed to stick to him.

The instructions said I could put the diaper back on. So I did.

Well, we were sitting in the lazyboy and all the sudden my side was warm. I have NO idea how it happened, but he had peed and it leaked out his diaper, down his leg and onto me.

So at this point, we are both covered in pee. The stupid bag had lost the adhesive and the little sponge/cushion had fallen out. I had to reapply the bag and SCOTCH tape it to him. Then I had to make sure his business was far enough into the bag so when he did pee it actually went in the bag.

After all that, I decided to leave his diaper off. So here he is running around the house, no diaper and plastic bag taped to him that goes down to his knees.

Oh man!! Why are they making you get a sample? They've never taken one from Skyler and she is 4!

  • I have no idea....to charge me more money b/c ya know, they don't already charge too much.

I think it has something to do with leadpaint maybe...I could be totally wrong thou.

  • Gotcha. And now that I am thinking about it - at Skyler's 3yr well check they asked for a sample and I said she was potty trained yet so the nurse said they'd just wait till she was.
  • I have 4 kids and never had to do a pee sample. That is odd. As for lead, Caitlin got tested last month and it was above 0 so I now I have to have all the kids tested and they are just doing blood, no peeing in a bag, thank god. I can't even imagine trying to collect that!

Lol, but I can see the frustration.

I don't get the need for a sample either, but that place seems like you should just put B2 in an envelope and mail him to their billing dept. since they want so much $$$$ (aka -- your first born).

  • Jake was tested for lead at 12 or 15 months, they just did a blood draw for it.
