Hi ladies and back from vacay!

Hi girls!  How is everyone?  Funny that I just saw the post about spontaneous trips as I just sort of got back from one myself!  DH and I left Sunday morning and came home today from a road trip to Toronto, which is about a 9.5 hour drive from Chicago.  I say sort of spontaneous trip b/c we had plans since August with our friends to drive to Avon, Colorado and stay at her Uncle's townhome for the week but last Wednesday she called it off due to troubles between her and her boyfriend.

So, Toronto it was!  We had such a fun and amazing time!  Roamed the city, saw the CN Tower, ate lots of food and drank Canadian beers, made another 2 hour trip to Niagara Falls.  Beautiful!

Unfortunately, due to my lack of planning day to day we were not able to make it work for me, Dex, and Fanny to meet up :(  Next time for sure :)

Just catching up on posts and life, hope everyone is well

Re: Hi ladies and back from vacay!

  • Sounds like it was a great trip!  I've always wanted to go to Toronto, I've heard it's beautiful.  It's too bad you weren't able to meet up with the girls, but I guess that's all part of the spontaneity thing.

I'm the one that made the post about our trip, and I can't wait to just get out of town.  Money is tight so we knew we couldn't do a long trip this year, but our weekend getaway should be just enough to clear our heads.  :)

  • Welcome back! Glad to hear you guys had a good time! What beers did you try?

Money being tight too was a big reason we choose to drive vs. fly and to stay a shorter amount of time than our usual week long vacations.  You're going to have a blast in Kalamazoo!

Besides good ol' Molson we also tried Creemore Springs Urbock (my new favorite!) and Rickard's.  I tried the Rickard's White which is comparable to Blue Moon I'm told but it was a little too sweet for me.
