So tired of horror movies!

DH is obsessed with horror movies.  If I have to watch another Friday the 13th, or Nightmare on Elm Street movie I am going to strangle him!  On top of that he wants to go watch Paranomal Activity 2 at midnight tonight!  He can watch it alone, I'll be in bed.

Re: So tired of horror movies!

  • ha!  I watch all those ghost shows on TV (Ghost adventures; the haunted; etc.) I'm more into Haunted type movies, not so much the crazy killer type.  I don't know if it's b/c I've had some experiences that led me to really believe in spirits, etc. or what.

The first paranormal movie kinda scared me during some parts, and the second one looks scary too!  But I like watching that type of stuff in my own home so i can cover my eyes if i want (or scream) and not look like a big baby in public Smile

Ditto this. I had my head in my shirt during "Jurassic Park" when it came out in theaters. Then during "The Grudge" or something whenever that freaky kid pops up at the very beginning, I screamed and feel asleep bc I refused to watch it and woke up during the credits. (Granted I was at home for that but still...)

  • DH has been PVRing all the horror movie marathons on TV right now, and sometimes I can't even use the TV since he's got more than one going at once.

I generally don't watch horror movies. DH always complains that I mislead him since the first movie we ever saw together was one of the Saw ones... which I won't see any of the others, lol. We trade off and for every horror movie I watch he has to watch a sappy drama.

  • I'm with you guys! I can handle slasher and gore (most of the time) but I cannot and will not to paranormal crap.   Ghosts and the like leave me shaking in bed for weeks.

I do love a good zombie or vampire movie though.   And I can do old stuff like Rosemary's Baby and Exorcists 1 and 2 and Omen series.  Those are just hysterical to watch now.

  • I just don't get some horror movies...how are movies like SAW where people are being tortured entertainment?  I'll watch a horror film now and then to make Don happy, but I get no entertainment out of it...I feel like I'm losing  more brain cells then I should be because watching it!

  • Aw, man - I like those types of movies, but my H is the big scaredy cat in our house.  He refuses to even think about watching Paranormal Activity with me.  I know it'll freak me the eff out, too.  But I kinda like it.  I'm weird, I guess.... Stick out tongue

  • I'm right there with most of you, I won't even watch them anymore. DH amkes fun of me and complains some, but oh well. I watched The Ring forever ago and I SWEAR I saw a ring everywhere I went for weeks! I also hate.hate.hate anything with scary children or crap that could really happen like the Paranormal movies, I would literally wet myself and not sleep forever.

I'm funny with gore... if it is over the top (a la Tokyo Gore Police) I'm fine. But otherwise, I can't handle it.

Old horror movies are fine with me too because I agree, they're just ridiculous now. I'm boggled that they were ever scary to people. Society really has become desensitized!
