As I mentioned in my PP last night, his grandmother chose to become DNR and requested to be moved back home. She stayed last night in the hospital and was supposed to go home with hospice today.
We recieved a call around 2:30 this morning that "things were taking a turn for the worse and we all probably needed to go up to the hospital". We raced up there to be met with a sign on her door saying "Do not enter. See nurse at desk". As soon as I got to the desk, the nurse came up and hugged me...I didn't even need to hear what she had to say.
Rusty's grandmother passed away this morning at 2:31 with the nurse by her side.
Rusty & I were lucky enough to see her last night before she passed. She was in so much pain, it was hard to watch. She did oull me close to her to hug my neck and told me that she was excited to go home. I told her I'm sure she was and that Sandy (her chihuahua) would be happy to see her, too. She smiled at me and said "I love you, but I mean that I'm going home to see Jesus". She went peacefully.
Please continue sending thoughts & prayers this way, though, as we figure out what happens next. Thank you ladies so much.
Re: F/U: Rusty's grandmother
So sorry to hear that. Glad she was happy to be going 'home'.
Many hugs, vibes, T&Ps out to you, Rusty, and Rusty's family.
OMG, I am so sorry. I am glad she is no longer in pain, what an amazing story for her to have said that to you the last time you saw her.
