A little update... turned into a novel

Hey ladies!  I've felt guilty for being MIA the last several weeks, and I miss checking in with you regularly  Embarrassed  Although I pop my head in every so often, I have felt like I have so much going on that I shouldn't be spending a lot of time here because I'm *wasting* it.  I know I'm friends with some of you on FB, so excuse me if I'm telling you things you already know- I just wanted to give everyone an update on what's been going on in my world:

As many of you might remember, my grandpa had a stroke at the end of July and was in a convalescent center.  This was about the same time dvshaw's grandpa fell and broke his hip  Sad   He ended up being released from the center 3 weeks later, but things kept going downhill and he developed pneumonia less than a week after he came home.  He passed away on September 3, and although I'm glad he's not suffering anymore, it's been really hard on my family, especially my "crazy" aunt (she's not really insane, just acts that way most of the time).  My poor mom has been having to deal with her, and in turn I get to hear everything from mom cause she has to vent to someone Tongue Tied

His passing, along with several other factors, have led DH and I to decide to buy my grandpa's house.  We currently rent and weren't even planning to look for a home for another couple years, so this has been really stressful.  We're trying to get our financing in order right now, and let me just say- it sucks!   We have no idea what we're doing since we're newbies and haven't had a chance to do much research on the whole mortgage process, and with the current lending environment- well, let's just say lenders are less than enthusiastic about helping us. Plus, this isn't a typical sale anyway (not going through a realtor, just the probate attorney) so we just feel overwhelmed and in over our heads.

My home business is humming, er crawling... along.  A big part of that is because my computer crashed about 3 weeks ago, and that put a halt on everything until DH could fix it.  Also, I really need to find a part time job to supplement our income, but it's been hard for me to find something.  I know a lot of retailers are starting to hire PT help for the holidays, but I feel limited as to what I can apply for because I have a number in mind as far as how much $ I need to be making.  And well, working retail isn't going to cut it unfortunately. Until I have that supplemental income, I don't really have much to invest into my business, so I feel a little stuck at the moment.

I feel that everything happens for a reason, so I know it will work out for the best... but it just feels like the timing is off right now on everything!

By no means do I want to be a downer, I just thought I should explain where I've been the last several weeks and let you know what's been going on in my life.  Things have been rough but I know it will all work out and I just have to stay positive!  Thanks for being great nestie buddies I can vent to!!
