Speaking of baseball

I'm not a baseball fan at all, so I have to say all the Giants mania is driving me nuts on my Facebook wall! It's funny how all these people jump on the bandwagon when a team starts to win. Anyway, my brother has connections to the box office as the Giants stadium so he managed to get tickets to the 3 games this week for free! He was stoked as the games were sold out!

BTW Gina and Laura - I don't care who wins, lol!!

Re: Speaking of baseball

  • I'm sick of the bandwagon Yankees fans on Facebook. People who don't care about or watch baseball all season long then show up in the last 2 weeks and won't shut up about how great the Yankees are and how they are born champions. Ugh!

    GO PHILLIES!!!

  • Yep, I agree.  Bandwagon fans irritate the crap out of me.  I'm not experiencing it much this year, fortunately, but back in 2007, when the Rockies made it to the World Series....it was insane how many people were suddenly "huge fans."  You know, when earlier in that year, the Rockies couldn't give tickets away to games.  (I worked in the box office for two years...I know how much Rockies ticket sales sucked for years.)  They actually did a thing on the news, where they took the camera down to the stadium before the game and asked people (who were all decked out in purple) to name as many players as they could.  Most of them could only name one or two current Rockies players, and a number of them were naming off people who haven't played for the team in years.  It was kinda funny.

  • bandwagon fans are not just in baseball. i know around here when alabama won the national championship EVERYONE was a fan. I bet half of them could not even name who the quarterback at the time was. (lauren not talking about you hon I know you are fan through and through) and now we are facing the bandwagon fans bc MSU is doing good...everyone is a fan and knows everything about the team...where were these people when we sucked?
