Too early for X-mas?

I was driving home last night and passed by a house that had their X-mas lights up.  I looked to DH and was like, isn't it a little too early to start with the X-mas decorations?

Don't get me wrong, I love X-mas as much as the next person but isn't it a little too early for the decoration?

If you're guilty of this please confess...lol!

Re: Too early for X-mas?

  • H decorates for Christmas on the day after Thanksgiving. I love Christmas so I'm good with this new tradition.

But holy hockeystickers, its OCTOBER! Halloween hasn't even happen yet, I'm no where near ready for Christmas stuff. Its bad enough that the stuff is already in the stores.

  • way to early.  and i am not as big into the christmas spirit as a lot of ppl.  dont get me wrong, i like it, but not enough to play holiday music for a month.  we generally go TAG our tree the day after christmas (we live in the boonies, you do not buy precut trees, you go to a tree farm and tag it so it has your name on it so no one else takes it) and then we go back and cut it down about a week before.  i will put up a wreathe on our door probably around the second week in dec.  and i will take out the menorah and start baking cookies whenever it is that Hanukkah starts.  i play CERTAIN christmas songs (classical biblical ones mostly.  weird, i know) like 3 times total, one of them being when we decorate the tree.
  • TOO EARLY!

    Post-Thanksgiving only.

  • If DH could he would have Christmas lights up (and on) all year long. He LOVES lights (don't worry, were not the people that pay 10k the month of December for lights) and our house gets pretty decked out. We've agreed that it all can go up the day after Thanksgiving and down the day after Christmas.
  • Holy crap!  Maybe they were just lazy and never took them down from last year?  That sounds like what would happen around my house. :-)

  • Post Thanksgiving, sure. Post Halloween, maybe. But October? Ridiculous.

Although my sister works at Kohl's and she says they've already set for Christmas.. as have most stores from what I've seen. It gets more & more premature every year.

  • The morning of the wedding, DH went to the mall to get a shave.  He texted me to say Sears already had Christmas stuff out.

My sister has admitted to playing the Christmas music in her store early - mostly because they want to know what songs are in the mix this year.  They've also been known to switch it out for regular music if they get sick of the Christmas stuff in December though.

As a fan of Halloween, I think October is way too early to start for Christmas.

My deal is that I am going to murder your puppies and piss on your rainbows. -diablesse Lilypie Premature Baby tickers
