we were so emotionally exhausted last night we popped the free dvd i got from my ins co months ago and it has changed our life! dude is the freaking baby whisperer and now so are we! : )
I feel like I will never catch up around here! but now that we have the hang of putting Jack down to sleep, I should be able to pop on once in a while.

Tasty! How is the c-section recovery going? Does Jack like BFing? Have you been keeping up with Dexter (I'm guessing no)?
In terms of news around here, I'm wearing some new pants today that make my ass look small. I think that's all you need to know. All other developments here in the Caribbean are unimportant.

I will never forget the night we finally put the DVD in (about three weeks into the game). We were pretty much defeated, admitting we didn't have a fuccking clue what we were doing.
After we watched the DVD we were practically doing victory laps around the house. I remember phrases like "YEAH! Take that baby! You DON"T SCARE ME ANYMORE! I got yer five S's RIGHT HERE, BABY!"
Of course then we swaddled him and crammed him into a swing til like 10 months, so don't necessarily listen to me.

This this thiiiiissss! We were like laughing and giggling with each other like school kids last night after we tried the Ss and it WORKED like a charm!
HT, I was up and walking 6 hours after the C. All the drs/nurses said I had an extroidarily easy recovery. I attribute it to my good health and my stubborness (ie, I'm not going to let this stupid C keep me from my baby!).
Calie, I can't even fathom going back to work right now. I don't think I'll be ready by 6 weeks post partum, but maybe enough to do some work from home (mostly just payroll). Then I'm returning maybe after 12 but dropping Fridays, and J can stay home w. Jack during the week while I work or I can bring him into the office. I would like to keep my job so that I can keep my kick-ass insurance, J would like me to quit. We'll see what happens utimately.

That DVD is AWESOME. i read about 10 books before Lila was born, but that DVD was really the only at home "research" that Andy took part in before Lila was born. Every soon to be dad that he knows of gets told about it now. "Dude, there's this DVD that you HAVE to watch...."

I never got to watch the DVD but I read the book. And now I need to remember where that is because I forget EVERYTHING about having a teenie tiny.
Oh Tasty, he's just adorable. Those squishy cheeks just kill me. I'm glad you're recovery was so easy. The work/stay home thing is a rough decision but somehow it always works out for what's best for your family.
BTW, why doesn't anyone ever talk about the fact that Dr. Karp only wears one shirt? It's all S and I could talk about after we watched the DVD.
