Hi,
Normally I post over on the bump, but there are next to no Canuks over there most of the time so I figured I would try over here. I know all the American moms have pedi's, but the family Dr is more common in Canada so I am lost.
My daughter has what we are suspecting is Obstructive Sleep Apnea and the sleep apnea clinic at the children's hospital has a 2 year waiting list, so our family doctor has refered us over to a pediatrician instead.
Does anyone know how things go diffrently with a pedi vs a family doctor? We have a really awesome family doctor who used to be a pediatric surgeon, so she is amazing with Madi, our daughter. Does the pedi wield more pull in getting children with special issues into specialized clinics, or does he have more say in getting her the help she needs vs a non-specialized doctor.
Sorry if these are kind of general questions, but I am sleep deprived right now and the brain does not want to co-operate lol!
Re: Pediatrician questions
pediatrician's referrals do go through faster. Dramatically faster.
Hope everything goes well with your daughter!
Thank you!
I just couldn't figure out the why and am glad soemone had the answer
She is being seen on November 11, which I just realized is the day we got our BFP with her too
Pretty much was annabelle said, they have a lot more pull.
