How to clean a memory foam mattress pad?

I have a memory foam mattress pad that I usually keep a waterproof sheet over to protect it. However, I took everything off of it the other day in order to clean. Within 30 seconds my son jumped up on our bed and puked everywhere! (Yuck, I know!) He basically never spits up anymore, just my luck I suppose.

Anyhow, now I am at a total loss of what to do. How should I go about cleaning this thing?!

TIA!

Re: How to clean a memory foam mattress pad?

  • I am steam cleaning mine. Not sure how bad it is, how quickly you were about to wipe it up, by the steam cleaning outside, we have a good size porch, on a shower curtain seems to be the way that is good for me.
  • I would use an enzymatic cleaner (like you use to clean up after pets), because the enzymes will consume the bacteria from the puke, and get rid of odors.
