Hi,
My family will likely be moving to the Cincinnati area in the next few months. I am hoping for some suggestions about where are the best places to live. We are looking for a family friendly community, where we can walk to get coffee on the weekends. We have two children, so schools are pretty important, as well as neighborhoods that are kid friendly.
If you live somewhere you love, tell me about it. If there is someplace you would love to live, I would love to hear about that too.
Thank you so much for your help! I am very grateful for any advice
Sabrina
Re: OH vs. NKY
Every time we drive through Meriemont, I tell DH how charming it seems. I don't know how expensive real estate or taxes are there, but it seems like a great place to live based on what you're looking for.
Another vote for Madeira or mariemont. Both areas are really nice and their schools are quite good. If Mariemont is a touch out of your price range, look into Fairfax--you'll still get mariemont schools but slightly lower home prices.
I think the answer to your question depends on what your price range for housing is. There can be a big difference between neighborhoods. I don't have kids so I am not sure about the schools, but we LOVE Newport. We live in the East Row district where we walk to church/coffee/restaurants. It's really close to the Levee which has tons of stuff to do. We are renting an old historic house and are probably going to buy in the area in the next year. It's a great community and everyone is friendly.
Just my two cents.
