I want to quit my job!! VENT

I seriously need to start looking for a new job. I am getting so aggravated with my current job. I have only been here 7 months and its already driving me crazy. I come home in a bad mood and there is no reason.

I got an email this morning from my boss telling me that I have not been doing my job correctly. WTF. If I suck so much why are you having me do extra stuff.

A girl just came back from a year long maternity leave and is acting like she is the boss. She is so rude to me and I can't stand her.

Then this morning a temp tried to get smart with me. WTF.

I am just in a bad mood or something, but I don't feel like dealing with it today.

  • Having been through this same type of experience (and STILL going through it...) I would def suggest getting out while you can.  Find something first then quit.  Life is too short to be that unhappy.  (And as I say that I'm having issues w/ a co-irker!)

  • 1. Your boss having you do extra stuff is irrelevant. Just b/c you aren't doing some responsibilities correctly doesn't mean you aren't slam dunking others. Ask your boss what you're doing wrong and express concern that it's taken 7 months to let you know this. You need feedback faster than that to cut off re-work and you want to do things well.

    2. Understand that maternity leave co-irker probably has a whole slew of issues she's dealing with, including post-partum hormones and the stress of balancing a newborn with returning to work. I don't have kids, but I can guess that it's hard not to be cranky when your boobs are leaking while you're trying to be serious about something. It's also likely she's not getting enough sleep. While not total justification for the rudeness - a little compassion can go a long way. Also - she's been gone and when you've been gone, you feel like you need to reassert your position when you get back. It's like coming out of the penalty box in hockey - you want the other team to know you're back on the ice.

    and finally:

    3. If rude lady and tempermental temp keep at it - tell them (in a very low and nasty whisper) that you have voodoo dolls and know how to use them, and unless they want to worry about what's REALLY in the coffee pot for the rest of your time together, they can STFU and play nice in the sandbox.

This is seriously awesome!  I'm LOL'ing!  Big Smile
