Can anyone recommend a great, outgoing, creative hair stylist with an excellent attitude? I'm looking for someone who can give an AWESOME haircut and is very "up" on their technique and style (maybe someone who has a cutting edge style themself). I also would like someone who isn't afraid of a challenge and is confident in getting a picture to look like the real thing on their client. I don't want someone conservative, or someone who will tell me what my hair can and can't do making me feel like I don't know what I'm talking about when describing what kind of style I want. Does this kind of stylist exist? I have been to quite a few salons in the past few years and I haven't really found a stylist that fits my needs and is open to listening and understanding what I want while giving a decent level of customer service. Am I asking for too much?
Re: Hair Stylist
That's just the thing. I don't want someone to tell me "Oh honey, your hair won't do that", I've heard it too many times and they're usually wrong and I leave with a mediocre cut. I would rather have someone say "Ok, I understand what you're going for, what if we do XXX?" and give suggestions to achieve a desirable style. I know what my hair can, and cannot do (I went to cosmetology school mylself, I just don't do it as a career, it wasn't for me). And I'm not necessarily looking for a wash and wear style. I'm ok if a style requires a little bit of work each day. I think a lot of stylists today deal with a decent of people who want 'easy' hair to deal with everyday. I'm okay if I have to blowdry and style my hair. I feel like I'm asking for the world
Haha.
I recently started going to Emily at Capelli Salon. I really like her. She's defintely outgoing and has an excellent attitude. I also think she does a great job with my hair and she's creative too (she told me I should consider going red!).
I haven't ever taken her a picture or talked to her about a specific new cut, so I can't say how open she'd be to that sort of thing. And my hair is relatively conservative (my choice), so I can't say just how edgy she is, but considering she's trying to talk me into going red, I consider her a bit edgy at least.
I second Emily. I would describe her as very creative and cutting edge. She'll stay w/in your comfort zone but from how I've seen her style her own hair she's up on the latest trends and is pretty edgy style-wise. One of my friends went to her and went from long, long blond hair to an a-symmetrical bob with red/brown/blond highlights. It looked amazing!
Hope you find someone great!
