Name Change at Work - Advice?
Gooood Morning! I came in this morning and it looks like the IT department FINALLY finally created a new email for me, with my new last name. I was bmaidenname at company dot com and now my email is bmarriedname at company dot come.
They set up so that all the emails to both addresses will come to one inbox, and that all outgoing emails will go from my new address.
Should I change my email signature to have something like: Breanne Married Name (formerly Maiden Name)
I just dont want to confuse people....luckily my first name is somewhat different so they should thoretically realize who I am right away.
Your thoughts?

Re: Name Change at Work - Advice?
When my email changed I sent out a mass email to all the internal people who I communicate with - my entire department, cross-functional teams, etc. to let them know. I also notified all the external people I was working with on projects. My email signature says Lori (Maiden Name) Married Name, and my outgoing VM message is Lori Maiden Name Married Name so people know they reached the right Lori. So for I haven't had any problems, outside of the occasional person who can't find me in the company contacts because they forgot my new name.
It's kind of nice to be anonymous sometimes. I was emailing back and forth with a somewhat annoying vendor, and she was like "oh, we should meet in person". She has no idea she's met me numerous times already, she would have been all over me if she knew who I really am!
TTC #1 since 4/10, Dx: MFI IVF planned for April/May
Ugh, I have not done anything at all to start the name change process, I am so dreading it. FaceBook is the only place I have it changed
Anyways, when we went through a server change at work where they changed everyones email address, a number of people put in their signature something like "Please note the new email address," so i would probably do something like that followed by what you were already thinking of doing (old name, new name, to kind of explain the change)

My signature has Erica MaidenName Last Name (that's my legal name now anyway), and my voice mail message says that too, like pp (Lori, I think), so folks usually figure it out. I've not yet sent out a formal announcement to external people, as many vendors I deal with are "one hit wonders" --- or so I thought. I think I do need to send an update so they don't keep putting my maiden name down as contact on record.
What's frustrating is that our company website still has my old contact info, so I keep getting calls from people asking for Erica MaidenName. When I answer the phone "Erica Married Name" they're all confused, as I don't answer the phone with my full name. I guess maybe I should until the website is fixed!
