wdyt about this?

Kids getting professional pictures taken in costume. Do you think it's cute? A waste of money?

Re: wdyt about this?

  • Eh I am not one to do it, but I would dress my son in a leprechaun hat and diaper cover for pictures for st. patricks day (though to be fair they were his 9 month pictures as well). I guess if Halloween has special significance for you then its OK....but not for me.

  • I probably wouldn't have a whole set of pictures taken just because my kids were in costumes. BUT, the reason I asked is because there's a photographer in perrysburg that I know who is opening her studio during TorT time and you can bring your kids in for $10 and get a picture taken. So I'm considering going and doing that even though we are trick or treating in Sylvania. Just trying to decide if it's worth the hassle and the gas money. haha. I'm sure the picture would be super cute ...
  • I did it one year for J's 2nd Halloween.  The pictures turned out cute, but I don't even remember if I ordered any or not.  J isn't one to LOVE his picture being taken.

  • It's a personal choice, some people want a nice photo of their kids in costume, some could care less. If you want to do it, go for it.
  • Maybe an outfit change into the costumes at the end, but not a full session in costume.  I think a full session in costume would be a waste of $$$.

Davis has pro pics this Wednesday, I *might* take his costume and put it on when we are done for a few shots if he is in a good mood.

  • We did it last year for N8's first Halloween, he had a dragon costume and a pumpkin outfit that my aunt bought for him.  With IL's in SC, it was nice to have some good pictures to send to MIL.  She loved them!
  • I think a cheap mini-session like that would be a lot of fun!  Like Jill said, though, I don't think I'd do a full session of just costume pics.

You MUST share them here if you get them done! :)

  • I wouldn't IMO. Are you going to set them out and want to look at them everyday? I'd just take a picture in the front yard and be done w/ it. :o)
  • if you are doing calendars for christmas again, i would.  that way you know you have a good pic and you dont have to try and sort through ones at least for october
  • I think if it's only $10 I would.
