Anyone have a good weekend?
Mine was physically and mentally exhausting. Between a baby who can't get rid of a cold and forgot how to sleep, and a husband who left yesterday for 19 out of the next 22 days, I'm tapped out.
I want to hear about someone who had fun this weekend.
Re: Anyone have a good weekend?
I hope Ian feels better soon!
I had an excellent weekend. I got several boxes unpacked; almost all my kitchen stuff is in place now. We went to a fantastic wedding Saturday night--beautiful ceremony and a really phenomenal reception, even if I did get a little tired of people asking if I was going to give birth right then and there. Sunday, we went to church early and then I napped for a couple of hours before going with Joe's aunt and little cousins to a pumpkin patch while his uncle came over and helped unpack boxes and get some more of our furniture set up.
Sorry about sick baby. Hope he gets over it soon.
Our weekend was pretty good. FIL drove out to bring us a cradle DH's grandpa made for him as a baby so they spent some time refinishing that. Then Fri we went out to the San Juan Islands, Sat showed them around Seattle, and Sun mostly relaxed which was nice.

I had a GREAT nap on Sunday.
Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

Sorry about sick Ian! Miles is always sick. I can't remember a time that I wasn't cleaning his booger filled nose. And dawg, that sucks! Ouch!
My weekend was very nice and productive. I read The Happiness Project last week and became inspired, so we spent the weekend organizing. I gave away five bags of clothes to charity, reorganized (or more accurately, organized) my closet, and we finally packed up all of Miles' baby clothes and toys. Plus, the kid slept until 7:45 yesterday morning, so I got an awesome night of sleep on Sat night.
Half and half, definitely productive though. We spent Saturday deep cleaning the house because my sister came in to town Saturday night. She's staying for 4 weeks for a med school rotation! So we went out to dinner the first night, then did some Target and grocery shopping last night, then lazed around watching TV and playing with the baby.
Of course, Sean woke up every 1.5-2 hours last night to make up for the awesome sleeping he's been doing all week. He decided he was up for good at 5am and it took me an hour to convince him otherwise. I'm exhausted.

I had a very nice weekend. Yesterday was my "sprinkle". It was really nice of my friends & fam to even think of doing something the 2nd time around. It was more food-centric than gift centric but they really surprised me with a gift certificate to a spa. Can't wait to use that!
My mom also really pulled on my heart-strings by surprising me with something that I thought was long lost/destroyed. My dad was an artist and when my mother was pregnant with me he drew a picture for my nursery. Before Alex was born, I had my mom look for it but she couldn't find it... I was really upset about it at the time, it's just something I thought I would never be able to get back. This past Thursday marked the 9th year of him being gone, so I've been thinking a lot about him lately. Anyway, rambling... My mom found the picture and completely dissolved my into a puddle when she gave it to me. I just dropped it off to be framed and matted and I am beside myself to have it back, and to give it to my daughter... It was like he was able to give me a gift. So special...
I had those 3 Etsy prints framed so I'm going to match it with the same pink matting and white frame.
I had to leave the picture and I'm terrified that the frame store is going to somehow explode or burn down before I can pick it up. I was hoovering over the employees who were handling it. I'm that crazy lady! Anyway, here's a picture of it.

Somehow it ended up in the outdoor shed that had caved in on itself, it was so old. She found it when she finally cleaned out the shed and had it torn down. It survived rain and snow leaking in, mice, mold... The drawing is done in pastel, too... And the colors are still so vivid and bright. It's crazy. Also, my parents were crazy heavy smokers and the fact that this thing isn't yellowed and crystalized in nicotine amazes me.
That is so awesome that your mom found it! Now you can have a piece of your dad hanging in your daughter's nursery like he's there watching over her for you.
Excuse me, I have a piece of sentiment in my eye.

Omg, hezz, what an awesome surprise. It's beautiful.
