It won this weekend. Or I did...I guess it depends on how you look at it. But I got 2 pairs of $200 Diesel jeans for 49 bucks each. I needed jeans anyway, so it was a helll of a deal, but that's also money I could have put into savings. Having said that though, I can't WAIT for them to arrive - I so hope they fit the way I think they should. The last time I had a pair of designer jeans was in 7th grade - it was a pair of Guess jeans that had a weird floral pattern on the pockets. They were clearanced out at $16, and I thought I was the coolest kid around. Unfortunately, they only matched light pink things due to the floral pattern, and I outgrew them about 10 minutes later.
If you use it, what's your best deal that you've gotten from this site?
Re: Oh, ruelala....
Oh Lord. I do almost all of my clothes shopping on Ruelala now.
Most of my dresses are BCBG/Phoebe Couture/DVF/Ali Rho and they are usually under $100 on Ruelala - but over $250 in Neiman's.
I got a gorgeous diane von furstenburg dress that I saw in Paris for 700 Euro on Ruelala for $99. I nearly died and its my very favorite dress.
I have kind of figured out the "pattern" as to how things pop up on there. So, for instance, I wanted a specific Phoebe Couture dress for last year's Red Tie. I tried it on at Neiman's around xmastime and knew which size I needed (it was $550 at Neiman's) and stalked Ruelala in February...and..there it was...$89. Booya!! It usually takes a month or two for things to pop up but I am willing to wait it out.
Right now I am stalking it for this year's Red Tie dress......
Oh wow, those are incredible deals. Why do they discount these things so heavily? Is it extra stuff they couldn't sell in the stores, or what? An $89 dress for $550 - that's an amazing deal. I mean, you'd pay $89 at Dillards or somewhere, for heaven's sake.
I've been throwing away my Ruelala emails lately so I won't be tempted, but my mom actually called me about this one since she knew I was needing some jeans. I think that once I get a real job again that I'll probably do most of my shopping there as well. I'll bet this stuff holds up better over the long run.
Its not the stores, its the designers and they sell a lot to ruelala when stores like Neiman's return the stuff they didn't sell when the new collections come out. Did that make sense? I think the economy has a lot to do with it - man, when the economy tanked, I banked on clothes. And now that the economy is recovering......damn it. I won't pay full price though so I just wait it out....
lol @ the Guess jeans.
You've got to "splurge" every once and a while! And I think 100 bucks is a pretty reasonable splurge!

I loved your comment about Guess jeans! I remember how much in love I used to be with mine... God, those were the days.
I'm a ruelala addict thanks to stripesandspots. Somehow I know everyday when it's 10:00 that I need to check out all the new sales for the day. I think the best deal I've gotten so far was the Biltmore all-inclusive package that stripesandspots and I took advantage of back in September. None of their other vacation deals have even compared to how inexpensive that package was. I'm hoping for more... especially to Napa!
