Oil-Free Shampoos?

Does anyone know of a good oil-free shampoo, and where I could find it?  I am having some issues with breaking out on my forehead and hairline, and think that it probably has something to do with my shampoo.  I am doing some other things to deal with my breakouts as well, but think this will help.

TIA

Lots of love and continual explosions of babydust to my BG Besties! XOXOXOXO

Re: Oil-Free Shampoos?

  • This may seem like a strange recommendation, but Aveda's Mens Pureformance shampoo and conditioner are formulated with skin care in them to care for the scalp/hairline as well as the hair itself.  This is a more common issue for men because 1. you see more of their scalp skin, and 2. they often produce more oil/sweat.

Another possibility is how you wash your face at night -- I had this problem years ago and realized I never fully rinsed the cleanser/dirt off of the perimeters of my face (near ears, hairline, jaw/neck) and that the buildup was causing me issue.  Try swiping some sort of toner (I love Aveda's exfoliant) around the edges and check the cotton to see if there's any remaining makeup residue.

    Hope this helps!!

  • I wonder how this would work for you.  It's from Lush.  www.lushusa.com

    Jumping Juniper

Lavender and rosemary are two herbs you really want if you're having trouble in the oil production department. This shampoo bar jumps into action to sort out any oil problems. It's the only shampoo we know of that smells like a gin and tonic; it's made with the essential oils of juniper berry and lime which smell good, but also decongest the scalp. Next time you're having oil issues, wash with this lovely tonic, then drink a tonic to celebrate your lovely locks.

  • I am not sure if it is 'oil free' but I would recommend Eufora. The first ingredient is aloe vera. It is also made with organic ingredients. My stylist even uses the shampoo for face and body wash! So it is really a great product! I love it! Good Luck!
  • Sorry I just saw this!!  Thanks for all of the recommendations!
