AW - DH is a keeper & a question

He sent me flowers at work today because it's been a month since the wedding!

Question - I didn't tip the delivery guy because it was surprise and I was unprepared.  But now I feel a little bad.  Would you have tipped?

My deal is that I am going to murder your puppies and piss on your rainbows. -diablesse Lilypie Premature Baby tickers

Aw, yay! That is too cute.

I've never tipped when I received flowers.. but that's only because I've never been home when they came. I've never received them at work. :(

  • How sweet!  No, I wouldn't have tipped.  First of all, I never carry cash on me.  Secondly, they were a gift to you so why should you tip?

  • as they were a gift (as flowers mostly are) i do not believe you are expected to tip.
  • I honestly had no clue that people might even think about tipping flower delivery people.  I feel sort of bad now.  My initial thought was, "Well, I don't tip the UPS/FedEx guy", but I don't know how flower guys get paid, if they drive their own cars, etc (which might make them more like pizza delivery people).  Now I have to think about this!

Regardless, I don't think you should feel bad, I'm pretty sure most people don't tip so he wouldn't be surprised.  Plus, you weren't expecting the delivery and it was a gift from someone else so it's kind of an odd situation to be tipping in (which is why I think flower guys don't expect tips).  Just be happy that your husband did something sweet and forget about it :)

  • Aww, I love that he sent you flowers!! Mines coming to have munch with me today at work. When I have ever gotten deliveries, I have never tiped, also because I was unprepared with no cash. No big deal.

  • That's what I figured.  It's a slow day at work though, so I have too much time to contemplate various things.  Thanks ladies!

  • That is so cute! We didn't do anything special for our one month. I never would have thought of tipping a flower guy...I don't think it's expected.
