Food question: ground turkey

What do you cook using ground turkey? I don't usually use it, but I have some. Do you just use it in place of beef, or do you have special recipes that call for ground turkey?

TIA

Re: Food question: ground turkey

  • I have yet to really cook with it, but I hear it is great in spaghetti, meatloaf, taco soup and of course burgers!

  • I always substitute it for ground beef. But this recipe is really good. DH loves it.

  • I use it in place of beef in almost everything. It's far more porous than beef so it does require more seasoning. I usually automatically add pepper and garlic salt to the meat when browning and then add whatever seasoning the beef recipe needed.

  • I am still having a hard time.  I wonder why the QUEEN of baking, cooking and decorating is asking US questions about food.  I bow down to you.  And I want recipies.

  • we use it anywhere you would use ground beef, we do not typically alter the recipe.

We use it in chili, lasagna, meat sauce, turkey burgers, stroganoff, etc.

I'm flattered. Seriously. I just don't really cook with turkey. My turkey experience is limitied to brining and baking whole birds.

    What recipes do you want?
