Need Advice about Horse's Boarding situation: UPDATE

So this was the weekend that my mom and I finally moved our horses to their new barn.  The last couple weeks, especially the last few days leading up to the move were seriously freaking me out. Things got really out of hand.  T almost threatened us last Sunday that if we're going to move, "do it now" because we are "asking other boarders to leave with us" and messing with her business.  We got picked up by a friend who owns a trailer Saturday morning.  We knew T and her mom would be at the barn and didn't want them to start into us so we literally waited down the road in someone's driveway until we saw the trailer.  When we got to the barn, T didn't say anything to us, which was fine.  I just wanted to leave peacefully. Unfortunately, her mom actually started following us through the barn practically yelling and saying things like "shame on you." She brought up my horse who died in January...Omg... I only said two things to her "Don't shame me, I do not deserve it" and "I don't want to talk about it, so I'm not going to." THANK God our horses got in the trailer quickly.

We made it to the new place in one piece somehow. The farther we got away from the old barn, the happier and lighter I felt.  When we got them unloaded at the new place, I felt like a deflated balloon because I've been so stressed and worried and it felt like the end was never coming.  The girls were a little nervous at first, which is normal.  Yesterday, we went out to ride and Velvet felt better than she has in about 2 months .  She was calm and happy.  I think they know that they're in a good place.  I'm just so happy that we made it.

I'm a little sad, because I had made so many memories at the old place... but I know I need to just move forward from here.  We couldn't have really done things any differently. My friend from fourth grade ended up moving with us, so we can finally ride together (T said rude things when my friend would go to the barn, so she got discouraged and wouldn't ride because she was afraid of always being criticized). I am hoping this is the start of some great rides and great times at the new home. (Sorry for being long-winded, but I am soooo relieved Stick out tongue)

  • I'm sorry that the lady from your previous place was being such a brat about things but I'm super glad that it all worked out for you. Being happy, comfortable and relaxed about the place where your horses are living has to be such a calming feeling for you.

    Yay!

  • Thanks for sharing my happiness!  I still feel all excited when I think about it.  My giant 4 legged baby is safe and happy. I am actually looking forward to going out riding again- not dreading seeing certain people. I feel like I can really get down to training now.  Ahhhhh... sigh of contentment :)

Yes, exactly!!  We had a bad storm here last night, and the barn owners brought all of the horses in, even those who don't pay for it, because she doesn't like to think of them being out in bad weather.  I am just in awe that I have a barn owner who is so nice!  I love it!!
