Atlantic City?
H and I are seriously considering a weekend in AC. To watch an exhibition basketball game, have dinner, maybe do a little gambling, and relax. Any recommendations for public transportation methods, hotels, restaurants, things to do?

How did you get there from NYC? We're still up in the air about all of that.
From SI we usually drive down, but they also have that new ACES Train from the city (Penn Sta, I think) http://www.acestrain.com/#
We usually stay at the Tropicana when we spend the night, it's okay but nothing to write home about. The Borgata is AMAAAAZING but it's much more expensive and away from all the other casinos. I would try to get one of the hotels on the boardwalk, even when it's freezing out we like to take a walk out there.

We've never actually stayed there overnight, so I can't recommend a hotel. But we do like to do a little gambling when we go. We usually check online before we go and they almost always have different offers in different casinos (like sign up for their card and get $50 in slot play or something along those lines), also often they'll have huge billboards when you're driving into AC. We usually do drive down there, but I know there is that ACES train. From Brooklyn there are buses that go down there and they give you a portion of the ticket price for slot play and sometimes lunch (so see if there are any buses like that by you) - the buses tend to be cheaper than the train.

We have also stayed at Atlantic Palace. No casino there, but cheap rooms and you can walk to everything. Have fun!
