Best soap scum remover?

Hi all,

I am fairly new here and jump around to different boards.  I find this board very helpful and thought you guys might be able to help me with my soap scum problem.  At least I think it's soap scum...It looks like dried water spots that are all over my shower door.  Most of what I have used does not work and before I go buy something new I thought I would ask around.  What works best for you?

TIA

Re: Best soap scum remover?

  • Vinegar works really well on shower doors.
    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers
  • Method le Scrub is my BFF when it comes to soap scum/hard water spot removal. It's at Target, Lowe's and the grocery store in my area.

I'd read the back though to make sure it's good on whatever material your shower doors are made of. I use it on my fiberglass tub/shower and it works sooo much better and faster than a magic eraser.

  • A magic eraser might do the trick as well!

  • Love the magic eraser and Method products too! Or white vinegar, most people hate to use it cuz it smells at first but it does such an amazing job and is so cheap!! Also Method sells a shower spray to use in between cleanings, to minimize your scrubbing, and it really helps! Also, i assume your door is glass, get yourself a squiggy (SP?!) thing, that people use on mirrors and windows, it takes all the water off quick, and with little to no water you will have less build up!
  • Scrubbing bubbles in the BLUE can is the best stuff ever. Just spray, let it sit for a little, then rinse and you are DONE! I sometimes have a lot so I just do a very light once over with a scrub brush. But seriously, it's the only thing I can find that works.
